Stocksfield Methodist Church Host Coffee Morning

The beginning of April got off to the best start as we were welcomed in to the Methodist Church once again for a coffee morning in aid of Project Parent. Last year, even though it is in my village, I was too ill to attend so I was so pleased I was able to make it down this time!

Danielle (who is my absolute rock in helping me at the moment) brought along her boyfriend, as I did too, for some extra hands. My mum (as always) was there and we were nicely stocked with cakes from generous people - a special shoutout to Elisa and Judith! It started off slowly and I was able to do a bit of mingling (or in my case, drink loads of tea and call it 'networking') but gosh did it get busy. Before we knew it we had people handing us generous donations for scones, bring & buy and raffle tickets. Danielle and I looked at each other midway through in awe of how generous everyone was. My mum did a fantastic speech (I totally chickened out) and then we did a quick total before everyone left. We were as utterly stunned as everyone else. We had raised an incredible £252.10 which meant the church alone had sponsored 25 boxes for this year. I was speechless and rather emotional after it all, the generosity of people and their kind words on the project really gave me a boost to keep going. We ha the most amazing morning, we have never felt so welcomed and the fact it was my local community who really tried for me made it extra special. So a huge thank you from the bottom of my heart to all those who helped out or came along.
